We are very excited to announce the launch of the activities of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence EU4GlobalOrder, co-funded by the European Union. This is the first Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the University of Pisa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Centre represents the culmination of the work previously carried out under a Jean Monnet Module (SoEULaw) and later under a Jean Monnet Chair (ProSoEULaw Abroad).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence \u201cEU fundamental values as a backbone for a fair, rules-based global order: promoting an inclusive and effective multilateral system in the wider world \u2013 EU4GlobalOrder\u201d<\/em> aims to become an international point of reference for the study, dissemination, and in-depth analysis of the European Union\u2019s contribution to the development and enforcement of international law, through the promotion of the fundamental values enshrined in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union. The project has an interdisciplinary, collaborative, and transnational vocation and addresses a broad and diverse audience, including students, academics, professionals, policymakers, civil-society actors, teachers, and citizens. Planned activities range from academic teaching to research, from professional training to public debate, with the goal of creating a shared space for dialogue and knowledge production.
Its main objective is to strengthen research, teaching, and public engagement on the role of the EU not only within its own borders but also on the global stage, with particular attention to how the Union contributes to a fairer and more inclusive multilateral system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each year, 48 hours of university teaching will focus on the core themes of the project, integrated into existing courses. These will be complemented by interdisciplinary seminars, two Winter Schools, educational events for high-school students, a training programme for teachers, specialised courses for professionals focusing on EU trade agreements, public debates with policymakers and civil-society representatives, as well as a \u201cCitizen Jury\u201d activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
